Where Next?
I have discussed mainland Spain, the Balearics and Sardinia. The question for us is where to go next that is both delightful and affordable. Our possibilities are:
For the most direct route to the Ionian, head for Sicily and sail along the "sole" of Italy
Fairly direct, but with shorter sea journeys, head for Tunisia, then Sicily
To continue enjoying the West Mediterranean (and exploiting the Italian we have been learning so diligently), sail clockwise round Corsica to Elba, and then sail south down the Italian mainland; but will we find sufficient anchorages or affordable ports? We shall find out next year!
