Dieppe to Boulogne - Thursday, 11 September 2003, 42 miles

Motored out at 07:50, and set sail in a Northerly F1. In principle, if the wind is light we like to sail slowly and go less far. But there are no useful stopping points between Dieppe and Boulogne. So we motored until about 10 miles from Boulogne, when a Westerly F3 allowed us to make enough speed to make Boulogne on the tide.

We'd been properly punished for squandering the wind the previous day.
