Introduction

We'd been putting off visiting India, because we weren't sure we could hack the heat, unsanitary conditions and beggars. However, you can't call yourself a traveller and never go to India! And the guidebooks suggested that Kerala would provide a gentle introduction to Indian ways.

Our aims were to meet some real people (ie people who had no commercial interest in us), see wildlife and wild scenery, get fit and enjoy the sunshine.
