A Guarda
|
Now we were on the final stretch, down the west coast of Portugal. A
gentle breeze took us past Baiona, but fizzled out before we left
Spanaish waters just short of A Guarda, so we motored in and tied up to
the key. I went to find a fisherman and asked him if we could borrow a
buoy, and he gave me a choice of two.
After picking up the mooring, we went in search of a retired fisherman
and his family who we’d met in 2006. They’s seen us coming in, and we
duly met the whole family again to enjoy dinner overlooking the harbour
on the veranda of a cottage he’d just inherited from his father.
