To Dieppe – 19 June, 38 miles

By the time we’d left the shelter of the town, we had a good F4/5 north-westerly. After the first mile of winding channel there was enough water to beat out of the estuary. By the entry buoy, Luke thought the waves were “awesome", and we certainly had spray coming at us by the bucket-load. Outside, Razzmatazz cut through the waves brilliantly with a single reef tucked in. We almost made Dieppe on one tack. In harbour, Luke had to leave us as his girl-friend had landed a concert appearance, and needed his support.
